I forgot to explicitly mention on Monday that once again, I *heart* Rome, even though hardly anyone else on my FL except <lj user="claris"> is admitting to watching it. Last week featured a very pleasant bout of “weaving”, which I think was supposed to be some sort of pun on the intertwining of limbs. Hot young-girl-on-much-older-woman action: risque, and a nice twist on the usual plot development of illicit affairs. Also a brief but sensual self-touching scene. This is a TV show that is not afraid to get sexy.

3. I bought my sun-sensitive paints. And no, that does not mean that I have given up on the dream of the sheep.

4. I am beginning to doubt my sincerity about giving a proper review of my meal at Susur, as I keep leaving my notes at home. One thing, though: on the non-chocolate sampler dessert plate, Mr. Susur Lee had made a “green tea creme brulee”, which sounds appetizing enough but was actually a doppleganger for the taste (but thankfully not the colour or consistency) of the little green shamrock-shaped marshmallows you get in Lucky Charms. I doubt our madly piratical-looking gourmand (see below) has ever eaten Lucky Charms in his life, so he may be unaware of his flavour faux-pas. Seriously, though. One does not pay literally hundreds of dollars for a five-course meal that concludes with a dish in any way resembling freeze-dried sugar pucks.

5. Lost: one gigantic collection of beads and beading paraphernalia, including several pairs of needle-nose pliers, hooks, clasps, chains and gazillions of costly flameworked glass beads. Last seen in my old apartment on Spadina before I moved to Weston almost two years ago. Baby come back to mama. I miss you. If anyone has any leads whatsoever of the whereabouts of said bead collection, kisses and prizes will be rained down upon you. (<lj user="edwud">, <lj user="mystery_diva">… is it possible I left them in the house somewhere, like the storage closet by the bathroom???) I can’t believe I lost such a massive and well-organized collection of beads in the move. I just have NO CLUE where they are. Did I give them away to someone and forget about it? It used to live in these silver Ikea tins, and now… I really want to know where it all went.

1.
