1. Weird dream last night. My friend Lena Q., who I haven’t seen in a long time, had just bought a new white car. It was a standard (which I never learned to drive), and for some reason I had to be the one to drive it, with a full complement of passengers. The steering wheel was in the rear right seat, and was sitting in front of me, and kept turning around to distract me. <\/p>\n

I kept telling everyone my view was obscured and I didn’t know how to change gears, and we were drifting into oncoming traffic, but nobody listened. Then the car crashed, and took about 4 other vehicles with it. We had the wreck towed to Serpa’s house, then he proceeded to get really weird and start lecturing me on physics while scrambling mostly nude (he was in a diaper) through the bushes in his front yard. <\/p>\n

I think whatever I ate before going to bed last night, I should probably avoid eating in future. Maybe it had some peyote in it or something. Ugh.<\/p>\n

2. I have the most bizarre urge to build an inukshuk<\/a>. There’s a great book on them by a Mary Wallace, but it’s unavailable from either Chapters or Amazon. I’m probably going to go buy it from Science City on my lunch hour.

3. Have the Foreigner song “Hot Blooded” stuck on repeat in my head from that stupid Diet Pepsi commercial with the old jeans. “I’m Hot Blooded! Check it and see, I got a fever of a hundred and three \/ Yeah, I’m Hot Blooded! Check it and see, feel the fever burning inside of me…”<\/i> Damn jingles.<\/p>\n

4. New news on work front: may have to “time share” between current job and new job for the next week or two. This sounds like a bad idea to me, but it’s sort of in the hands of my managers. Sheesh. <\/p>\n

5. I continue to really need to go to NYC to get my Ebay crap out of ‘s apartment. I am such a slacker. Maybe I should drive instead of flying? <\/p>\n

6. Guest speaker Jacqueline M. Ward gave a 45 minute lecture at my quilt guild meeting last night. She is an “amateur” costume maker (her real job is as a librarian, and yes, she has a cat) who has been making pro-quality costumes for herself to wear to SciFi Convention masquerade competitions<\/a> since the early 1980s. The costumes were quite stunning, and the slide show showed a clear direction in her art, but I was choking slightly to avoid laughing when we got to the “Alien Fairy” costume. When the words “methane breathing tanks and apparatus” and “five eyes to complement the three breasts” came out of her mouth, I nearly lost it. Lovely lady, very skilled with the needle, but oh my dear lord the geekiness. <\/p>\n
