Sorry I didn&#8217;t respond directly, but I was offline and at home all day.<\/p>\n<p>I had a very relaxing transition from twenty-seven to twenty-eight. Listened to CBC radio 2 play a whole lot of Mozart. Sewed. Read some Melville. Drank a vat of iced tea. Ate about 33 cookies. Annoyed the dog by petting her ears. De-fragged my computer and deleted some old e-mails. Yep. A laid-back kind of birthday.<\/p>\n<p>I got calls from many thoughtful folks, including my lovely cousins in the Bahamas, my friend John M., <lj user=\"cwf\"> and <lj user=\"furrypinkcowgrl\"> and a nice visit from Uli &#038; Paul that involved carrot cake, gift wrap and domain name acquisition. I made ginger chicken and rice for dinner, and watched &#8220;Elf&#8221; for the first time, after owning the DVD for nearly a year. All in all, a fine birthday. My only regret is the lack of a pinata.
