Last night K-Jo, Aaron, JVL and I finished watching season 2.5 of Battlestar. No spoilers, but I loved the last five episodes. They really took some risks. I look forward to season three.<\/p>\n
This morning I was feeling oddly invigorated from the weather and cycled into work. The last times I can find reference in my journal to making this hazardous trek are April 16<\/a> and May 02<\/a> last year. I think my lack of consistent effort in this area is because it’s easier to get the bike downtown than back home again; the 75 minute ride uphill is excruciating, especially after a long day at work, and you can’t take a bike with you on a rush-hour GOTrain or bus, so I have to stay downtown until at least 6:30pm or so in order to bring it back with public transit, and that’s just a little too late for my taste. <\/p>\n Maybe on days when the weather is good for riding down, I should try making arrangements to stop off at people’s houses on the way home for a breather (like pause in the Junction to say hi to Also, another reason I don’t bike down often is because although I love the action of cycling, the brutal smog, killer drivers, intense sweating, bum bruising potholes and squinty sun-glare are all a little much to take before 9am.<\/p>\n After my bike ride I tried another of the new Arizona iced teas: Blueberry White Tea. Not bad, but the pomegranate one was better.<\/p>\n And this afternoon we had the award ceremony wrap-up\/postmortem meeting, which concluded with a lovely lunch that came with a glass of Magnotta sparkling wine for each member of the committee. The dessert that came after was a decadent belgian chocolate mousse that completely nullified any physical benefits I may have derived from the morning’s bike ride. Oh well. It was deeeelicious.
