I love oatmeal. Ergo, I love grits, which are made of corn, with the consistency of oatmeal, but with more butter, pepper and cheese (if you make it right).

Galactica, Battlestar: Adama. Say it. Is. A. Cylon.

Gallivanting: To go out looking for entertainment or amusement. Thesaurus: traipse, ramble, meander, junket, travel, wander, roam, stray, rove, gad about, range. Travel is fun. Especially when it involves a good gallivant.

Geography: along with reading analog time, eating brussel sprouts without making lemon-face, swimming and gagging myself, one of those things I just can’t seem to get an intellectual grasp on.

Goat: once, the mascot of my first-year university residence dorm “Ferguson House” in Whitney Hall. Now, I’d like to own one to eat all my trash and give me tasty cheese.

Goomba: my favorite old-school Nintendo character, featured on the lower right-hand corner of my recently completed Mario quilt masterpiece.

Grey: meaningful in that it used to be my favorite colour, spawning a now-defunct art website that I made several years ago to feature women artists, including myself and a special section on Joyce Wieland. Also, I like the historical Lady Jane Grey (the nine days queen), Dr. Jean Grey of X-Men fame and Earl Grey tea.

Greenhouse Effect: scares the poop out of me. I can’t take the summers in Ontario getting any hotter, and I’m just not ready for another ice age. Would people please stop driving their SUVs already?!?

Google: I love it. I use it every damn day. It makes research faster. It takes me places. It has great maps. I am not yet using it’s mail program.

Gargle Blaster, Pan Galactic: the best drink I’ve never drunk. “the effect of a Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster is like having your brains smashed out by a slice of lemon wrapped round a large gold brick.” how awesome is Wikipedia for having an entry on this?

Gilmore Girls: The characters and the show. Both are fun — or at least they were up until the horrible awfulness of season four. Rumour has it that in season five they bring the fun back again, though, so I’ll keep watching… for now.

George Michael: His 1985 “Faith” tour was my first-ever live rock concert. I had to take my Mummy and Daddy along with me, since I was very young. They were a little shocked that I was listening to “I want your sex” at age 8. I guess I’m just an early bloomer. Or, a horndog.

Gandhi: Dear Mahatma; would you really have been so terribly offended by the humorous depiction of yourself in ‘Clone High’ that you would have demanded your followers write a letter campaign on behalf of the people of India, asking that the show be cancelled after only one brilliant season? I think not. My extremely shallow and probably incorrect reading of the Bhagavad Gita tells me that you would have laughed at your hyperactive, party-going, ADD-afflicted clone self.

Gellar, Sarah Michelle: Oh, Buffy! I miss you.

Gabriel Garcia Marquez: One of JVL’s friends has my entire collection of his paperback fiction on loan, and I want it back!

If you’d like to do this – write about at least 10 random things starting with the same letter – comment, and I’ll give you a letter.

tagged me to write about things starting with the letter G!
