{"id":694,"date":"2004-08-10T12:58:00","date_gmt":"2004-08-10T16:58:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.pipesdreams.org\/blog\/archives\/694"},"modified":"2004-08-10T12:58:00","modified_gmt":"2004-08-10T16:58:00","slug":"ignoring-popular-opinion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pipesdreams.org\/blog\/archives\/694","title":{"rendered":"Ignoring Popular Opinion"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Although my readership has made it clear to me by their pointed lack of commentary on my crabby post, I choose to revisit the subject, because it&#8217;s got its pincers into me.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/images.ibsys.com\/2004\/0810\/3636969.jpg\"><br \/>\nAccording to <lj user=\"lamagnifique\">, apparently there are <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nbc6.net\/news\/3636890\/detail.html\">crabs, crabs everywhere in South Florida<\/a>! I thought I might just be mentally in tune with mating season at sea, perhaps channeling <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0088161\/\">Darryl Hannah in &#8216;Splash&#8217;<\/a> due to my recently platinum-blonde hair (causing me to change it last night to a nearly natural looking ginger-red). But the dream-vision pregnant belly crab looked different than these little dudes. <\/p>\n<p>It looked more like <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mov.vic.gov.au\/crust\/mov1657i.html\">Ovalipes australiensis, a sand crab<\/a>, or maybe <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mov.vic.gov.au\/crust\/mov1590i.html\">Cyclograpsus granulosus, a rough shore crab<\/a>. I am really disturbed to have discovered in my research of this subject that, much as lobsters are the aquatic descendents of cockroaches, crabs are the watery cousins of spiders. Gross. Totally gross.<\/p>\n<p><i>In other news:<\/i> I found my penguin house-keys! And my nearly-lost but actually just resting at Spadina orange plastic wallet!
