Real Estate Speculations

Hmm. On my lunchhour today, I snapped up one of those many glossy “homes in Toronto” magazines that you find in boxes strategically placed at GOTrain stations and near major subway stops, and perused the “rental rates in the GTA” section.

Population and rental statistics for Weston and the Bay Street Corridor

Our current area, Weston (known in the guide as ‘Neighborhood 113’), is not so different statistically speaking from the Bay Street Corridor (aka ‘Neighborhood 76’) where the condo I’m hoping to buy is located. The major differences? Numbers of families with kids, number of apartments versus houses and percentage of folks with post-secondary education.
Observe:
——————-Weston—–vs.—-BayStCorr
Median Population..17,460…………14,054
Household Income..$39,495………..$49,595

  1. Heh, I love “inquire.” It’s like “don’t ask, don’t tell.” Or perhaps “YOU CAN’T HANDLE THE TRUTH.”
