Media Advisory and Cry of Pain

1) Having now finished the first disc of the DVD set, I can officially say that ‘The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr.’ is totally awesome. Buy it immediately.

2) Thanks to the eclectic wonderment that is TMN on Demand, I discovered last night that the dreadful ‘Dukes of Hazzard’ remake movie with Jessica Simpson (blech) and that guy from Jackass and that other guy from the American Pie movies who played Stiffler has **the entire Broken Lizard crew** in it, AND an homage to ‘Supertroopers’. A pleasant surprise, to be sure!

3) Why didn’t anyone tell me that knitting an acrylic blend on plastic needles feels like a tactile translation of the sound of nails on a chalkboard?!?!? Eeeewwwieee! I started to make a third pair of gloves for my friend Aaron as a thank you for the photoshoot, but he wanted camoflage-coloured yarn and I found the perfect colour in this nice, soft acrylic/wool blend. But the instant I started casting on I realized that I simply can’t do this without metal needles. You can’t imagine how nauseating it feels – like chewing on aluminum foil but with your hands. Ugh.

4)Doctor Who scarf is now 1/3 of the way done and really no longer portable due to being so freaking long. I’ve completed 380 out of 996 rows (it was shorter than I thought because the season 12 pattern omits this big bar of 44 gray rows that I calculated in by accident at first). I hit a “cursed” patch of ash coloured wool that I had to unravel three times due to stupid mistakes before I got it right, but thankfully I’m past that now. Push to the finish!

Oh, and I’m Finished Summer School

Yes, did the finishing touches this morning just before running out the door to work, and of course left the CD-ROM I burned with all the code and files for my entire project sitting in the CD burner drive in the laptop. I am so smrt.

She ain’t the greatest, but she’s not bad for less than three days’ work with no inspiration as to content other than what I was interested in this weekend. Weekend of course heavily interspersed with breaks to drink iced tea, knit more bits of my Doctor Who scarf, and watch Top Gear on BBC Canada.

The final Macromedia project (notice how there is ZERO Flash content? …yeah, I’m sure my professor will, too):
