Smitten?

I have never seen anything more suitable as a gift for and in my life as the Smitten. And I doubt I shall do so in the future. With your permission, I’m going to buy one of these for you as the beginning of your (long, long overdue) wedding gift. Maybe if I buy you both one $10-20 gift every year for the next decade, we can call it even?
I am scum and a terrible shopper please forgive me ohhhhh

A warm-hearted gift

“What is THAT?” was the response from Star newsroom types when shown this fuzzy red object. “It’s a Smitten รขโ‚ฌโ€ a conjoined mitten for two people in love to hold hands while they walk. See, it’s shaped like a heart.”

“Looks more like an aorta, or maybe a bladder,” was the reply from non-romantic newshounds. Sigh.

The Smitten, made of polar fleece, is intended for those who are not cynical and hardbitten, for “couples addicted to hugging, caressing and nuzzling. It’s for warm-hearted soulmates wishing to hold hands while crunching along together on a chilly afternoon,” says the Smitten company of Glen Ridge, N.J.

Lunch date!

Hooray! just dropped by my office with tasty, tasty lunch for us both! Mmmm… The Peter Street Deli’s General Tso’s chicken with rice is delicious! Also, I *heart* Black River unsweetened certified organic apple juice. ๐Ÿ™‚ Happpeeee!

While JVL was here, we were joking/sharing mutual fear of this upcoming weekend, with it’s combination punch of me trying to see and company for lunch on Saturday, then a double-whammy birthday party Saturday night, then our one-year anniversary on Sunday, then Valentine’s Day on Monday, which is also the day I get possession and the keys for the new condo. !Brainexplosion!

We thought we’d “plan ahead” and “calm ourselves down” by looking at our respective calendars for the next few months, and I’m not going to lie, there’s a whole lot of hectic on its way!

“Gum Grafting: Justin’s Adventures in Excruciating Flesh-removal” continues on the other side of his mouth at the end of March, which is when I’m supposed to be taking time off work to write my three final 20 page thesis papers for Waugh/Greene, Victorian Narrative Poetry and quite possibly Old English (not the malt liquor, the language). Then, JVL has four conventions to attend between the end of March and the beginning of June. Aaand, if the gods are willing, I’m still going to try like hell to go to N’awlins at the end of May, (same time as JVL is doing the Anime North convention), although earlier that month my friend Olivia is getting hitched, so maybe I should save up for, you know, a gift. *shame*

So! Many! Commitments!

Tonight I’m going to try to skip out of work at quarter to five to meet and look over a prospective condo with her, then maybe dinner with her and and . Then off to class.

Then… the roommate saga will continue…
