This weekend, I made the ultimate sacrifice for my mother.
I missed Rome. Fortunately, dinner and the wine and the good company were worth it. Or at least, I think so: I’ll be unable to make a firm judgment one way or another until I see the episode. Thanks to JVL’s excellent skillz with the TV guide (which is unintelligible gibberish to me), I’ve been informed that I can catch up with it Tuesday night at 10pm. So no phone calls will be taken at that time from anyone, got it?
Thursday night is the Casa Loma quilt auction. Trying to determine my upper bidding limit for ‘Shaded Squares’, my favorite piece in the exhibit. Also debating whether the $75 admission fee is worth it, or if I should skip the whole thing and hope to get lucky at Stratford on Nov. 12th.
Convocation information arrived in the mail on Friday. Master of Arts ceremony will take place at Con Hall, Thursday, November 17th at 7pm. Yay! I get to wear a gown and mortarboard again. I just can’t get enough of that stuff. What I *really* want is to wear the doctorate robes one day. That shit is bomb.
Have quilt guild meeting tonight. Looking forward to getting my badge, and some sound advice on the log cabin that I’ve been slaving away at for the past two months.
Also engaged in the pursuit of finding the cheapest place to get a replacement rotary cutter and self-healing mat. Michaels? Fabricland? Wal-mart? I just don’t know. But I’ll find out.
