Flames Make It Go Faster

Aug 15: Yarn has arrived! Going to start this shawl right away, hoping to have it done for Sept 1st. 🙂

Aug 16: Reached row 40 after 1 hr 30mins knitting time. I know, I’m slow.

Aug 17: Finished first repeat of lace (rows 41-55), total knitting time now 3hrs 30mins.

Aug 18: Finished second repeat of lace (rows 56-70), total knitting time now 8hrs 30mins.

Aug 22: Finished third repeat (rows 71-88), total knitting time 12hrs 25mins.

Aug 26: Finished fourth repeat (rows 89-104), total knitting time 15hrs 30mins.

Aug 30: Finished fifth repeat (rows 105-120), total knitting time 19hrs 30mins.

Sep 3: Transition chart, rows 1-24 complete, starting edging. Total knitting time 26 hours.

Sep 7: Inset charts (rows 1-40) and chevron border (rows 25 & 26 of transition, repeated) complete. Total knitting time 40 hours. Binding off with lace decrease took about 30 minutes. 59g of yarn left in the ball, so used about 600 yards to make the shawl.

Listened to Georgette Heyer’s audiobook of “The Nonesuch” and most of Dorothy L. Sayers’s “Whose Body?” while knitting this scarf.
